Choices, Choices, Choices
To Choose or Not to Choose, that is the real question.
Let’s face facts, every choice that we make, good or bad, has a consequence. We can choose to eat the cheesecake and love it but we still must deal with the consequences of that decision. We can choose to not show up to work next week but we must deal with the consequences of that choice.
Addiction loves these types of mind games, because it knows that all it has to do is get us to take that first hit or drink and it has us!! Once upon a time I believed that I didn’t have a choice, I had to use to get thru my day. Today I’ve learned that’s bs!! I don’t need a drink or a drug to survive the day, when we start believing that we need this or need that to function ‘normal,’ we defeat ourselves. This or that only takes us away from the things we love. It’s going to bring us deeper down the rabbit hole until it breaks us mentally, emotionally and physically. Then it owns us.
Learning to make better decisions in life opens up a new world to us, we change our view and life changes with us!! If we keep looking for the negative in life then that’s exactly what life will show us, butttttt if we learn to find the positive in every situation then our life will soon reflect that.
When we learn to stop chasing the negative things what do you think we end up doing? We replace it with positive things, with things that give back to us, that feed our soul.
But here’s the truth from a guy that was broken, beaten and a prisoner to my own mind, you don’t have to be stuck living a life that isn’t good for you. You can and will beat your addiction, you will get your life back under control, and years from now you will look back smiling at what you survived. I believe that and so should you. God has a plan for you.
